| During the 2008 Legislative Session, several proposed bills targeting illegal immigrant activity were suppressed from consideration by Speaker of the House, Marco Rubio. |

| And according to media reports, Rubio and his " lieutenants " from Miami-Dade, had decided before the legislative session even began... that these bills would never be heard in committee. |
| |
| These facts, of course, were not known to the hundreds of citizen activists who took time from their families and jobs, and spent tens of thousands of dollars, in personal funds, to make repeated trips to Tallahassee to get the Speakers' support for these bills. |
| |
| Unfortunately these citizen activists were repeatedly lied to and deceived by members of Rubio's staff who indicated their willingness to see the bills addressed. |
| |
| Therefore, without executive action (Special Session) by the Governor, Floridians will have to wait another year to take another shot at gaining favorable legislation. |
| |
| Obviously, Florida, and the nation can not wait, nor can we allow political games to be played at the expense of our families safety and national security. |
